Today, I woke up at 6:46AM to work a 15hr shift. When I got to the airport, the Captain was running late (my dad). After he came, we did the flight briefing and whether checks. We were flying Wiltshire 15 over to LA from London, it is a 9 hour flight. Going up into the aircraft every thing was routine and we pushed back at 9:18AM, during take off, we had a 767 landing on 27L. It was also a routine takeoff, we climbed to 36,000 feet and cruised there for about 8 hours. We were just about to cross the North Atlantic, we contacted Shannon, Shanwick and Gander. It all seemed normal, the relief crew came up onto the flight deck to fly for the rest of the 8 hours we were up there. Sometimes, on long haul flights, it is common to have more than one flight crew onboard. Once when it was time to descend, we started to descend down to 5,000 while contacting approach, once when we got cleared to land, we called minimums and successfully landed at 1811Z (6:44PM EST) we had succesfully landed in LAX. Once when we got to the gate, we shutdown the airplane and we stayed on there talking to Cabin crew for about 30Mins on the plane. Once when we got the Crew lounge, we submitted our PIREPS and logged out. The shuttle picked us up late to go to the Hotel, when we got to the room, I was tired but it is worth it. Now as I close this out- WAIT!!! Did I spend time with my dad? Yes, I did, he was my Captain we spent lots of time together and we had fun doing it. Here are some pics!
