I have to wake up at 2000 to fly a 2200 flight to VTBS (NBK). I gear up (eat some dinner) and jet off to Heathrow. This will be my last trip with WLS until I move to AA or a Oneworld Airline. WLS is puting pilots either to BA or AA and a tiny bit to CX. But I am going to AA!
8:20PM I start my duty timer and I am ready for the flight, I find my Captain, and we brief for the flight.
8:40PM Weather reports etc.
9:01PM We finish Briefing and we head off to the Aircraft (B772 EGLL-VTBS).
10:22PM We had a delay (comms issues) but we got that fixed.
10:30PM We jet off to Bangkok.
11:20PM we reach our cruising altidude and we start our dinsert meals (Dinner and/or Desert) I just get some Ice Cream and I am good.
12:40-2:31AM I keep checking off the waypoints while talking to ATC. (On flights with a lot of waypoints you can skip a few waypoints but not the crucial ones). I get relived from another pilot and I get a 3hrs rest.
6:00AM-9:00AM I wake up and I get ready to relive the other pilot. My Captain and I brief over the descent. We got a visitor up on the Flightdeck, who was an Air Traffic Controller and a pilot. He was flying a flight on FSX already. We begin our descent and it was a long one, it took us about 35mins to get to our final vector. At 8:55AM we touch down nice and soft -126fpm.
At 9:02AM we get everything shut off and we head for the layover hotel.
11:20AM I am tired and I just reached the layover hotel, I got like 20mins of sleep and I had to go out.
TIP: On landing, what I like to do is to be about 3 white and 1 red but you are really close to 2r 2w, right when the countdown hits "100" start to pull back the throttle (make sure you are about 15kts above your touchdown speed) once when the word "50" is called out you should be perfect with the PAPI or VASI (even though the PAPI is unreliable at that point) then you you will either touchdown on point or just go a little bit farther than the touchdown point. Also aim your aircraft for the spot at "500".
That is it, I got home safely (not the best landing). Have a nice today
